Kyonyuu Majo English Translation patch

Hello everyone,

I present to you my latest translation project:

Kyonyuu Majo - or Funbag Witches for short
"A story about: legacy, passion, deep-rooted grudges, big tits, and last but not least, coffee?"

Since I started playing the Funbag Fantasy games a couple of years back I got obsessed with these side-stories/spin-offs which the series thankfully has plenty off. Having read bookwormotaku's review of it, there was something about this game's art and setting that always made me want to translate it. I thought a lot about whether it was worth doing it when I finally decided to pull the trigger and commit to it, knowing these might probably never get officially picked up anyway.

A couple of notes about the patch: it uses d3d8.dll to inject runtime changes via a custom addons\text.dll to change the window title, the in-game fonts and some other small things similar to how Sideboob Story did as well.
Regarding the font, this translation was made using TakaoPGothic, so padding wise, the text is indented to be read using this font.
Patch was tested using only the highest resolution values: 1280*720 for 16:9 and 1280*960 for 4:3, the latter being the best resolution and aspect ratio to play Waffle VNs in my opinion because there's no text in the way of the visuals.
I have also included the Web Survey Bonus "Nude Heroines Toggle", because why not πŸ™‚. This will add two buttons on the top right of the screen which will let you undress or dress the ladies. If it's in the way and you want to disable it, easiest way is to rename the obj folder and it should stop the game from loading it.

To point out some small issues with the translation steaming from the tools I used to repack the scripts. Since they just do a search string and replace, some of the more context specific lines like: 「はい」or 「――γ„γ„γˆ」(I know right) sound at times out of place while sometimes downright wrong, for example: Shizume addressing Genichirou with “Yes ma'am!” in the prologue because Tomoru had the same line a couple of clicks prior.
I couldn't leave that as it was so I had to go with something more broad like a simple “Yes.”. There aren't many occurrences where this happens so hopefully it won't be too game breaking. Such are the ways of fan translating, you do what you can with the tools that you have.

To install the patch:
- Extract the archive's contents in the game's folder overwriting everything you're prompted to.
- Install the TakaoPGothic.tff font that comes with the archive.
- Change the base game's folder name from 'ε·¨δΉ³ι”ε₯³' to something like 'Funbag Witches' (anything that's not cp932 encoded should do) otherwise the game won't start.
- Finally, start the game using the 'Funbag Witches.exe' executable.

v1.0 - Text and UI translated to English.

To wrap things up, I'd like to share some interesting trivia about the game and my personal opinions of it:
- Game has a total of around 200k words split into, give or take, 27k lines. Out of all the game's text ~45% are the H-scenes.
- Even though this game can be seen as a sort of experimental spin-off back when the Kyonyuu series was still in its infancy at Waffle, any fan of the series should definitely give this a shot. Route A harem ending alone makes the game worth playing. The infamous Route B not so much, but at least the H-scenes are good there. Which is actually one of my gripes with the game, they locked two awesome heroines under a route that was pure filler, just for the sake of having two routes. But anyways... that's water under the bridge.
- There are various easter eggs pointing to its previous title: Funbag Fantasy. Most of which are related to Lute, but one interesting easter egg in particular is about Wan Coan and Bernstein, which in this title are portrayed as dogs. Now one might write this off as mere fan service but given this title's strong reincarnation thematic, it shows just how 'well' both of them lived their previous lives.
- As for me, I plan to translate the 10th Anniversary - Ura no Hihou version too, since about 30% of the text is shared between the two titles anyway and that game is much shorter. We'll see when that happens.

Have fun.
